No- our splashy sand does NOT have "fizzing" power. Because our splashy sand is meant to be a skin-nourishing bath soak, we save the fizzy fun for our bath dough!

For kiddos who still want to put everything in their mouth, we recommend our vanilla sprinkle or chocolate sprinkle splashy sand or kits! They are completely dye free. Simply order the unscented version of the kit. It won't taste great- but all of our ingredients are non-toxic, natural and food grade.

It's absolutely normal to see black specs in your splashy sand! because we use fruit and vegetable dyes in their pure and food-grade form, with no processing or additives, plants gonna plant! they don't always dissolve like liquid or other synthetic dyes will. you may notice this especially after your splashy sand goes into the tub. when it dissolves in water, the plant separation in the dye may be more apparent.

if there are any texture variations, we can almost guarantee it's normal. first and foremost, we use all natural products with zero processing or additives. texture variations are normal, especially if the splashy sand was left uncovered and is slightly dried out. our honey formulation is also especially prone to this as we use pure honey with no malodextrin or other additives. honey will sometimes crystallize, causing some hard flecks. just pick them out and throw them away, or allow them to dissolve in a warm bath! finally, we use both coarse and fine epsom salts, to provide a more varied sensory experience in our kits! some of the granules can be fairly large!

any dye, natural or synthetic, can potentially stain any porous surface. this means any cracks or unsealed surfaces can potentially stain- keep it away from those surfaces and you should be a-ok! anectdoatally, I photograph and make test batches on my marble countertops (soo terrible and porous) and I've yet to have a single stain- and boy do I make messes! simply wipe off any left-over color with a dry rag or paper towel.

Many of the plant and vegetable dyes may become darker or more intense as the oils and butters sink into them. It's totally normal, because all splashy sand is made in fresh, small batches.

It's time to hit the cupboards! Simply coat your hands with olive oil, or any other skin friendly oil, and slowly work it into the SPLASHY SAND to revive it. Less is more- if you use too much it won't hold it's shape! bath oils also work well!

once splashy sand has been played with, it should go into the bath shortly after. this will prevent any bacteria from hands getting cozy in your splashy sand. if you'd like to get several uses out of the splashy sand, simply split the batch into several plays!

Color kit-to-kit and batch-to-batch will vary. Nature provides variation in the ingredients we receive, and this causes further variation as we combine ingredients. We also hand-make the product in small batches, which can mean slight variation from batch to batch as well!
